On June 1, watch some of the world’s best climbers compete on boulders they’ve set themselves for a cash prize. In this competition hosted by The North Face and Climbing, eight pro climbers, including Daniel Woods, Nina Williams, and Kai Lightner, will be paired in co-ed teams. They will work together, playing on each other’s strengths to set boulders that will challenge the other teams during the final round.

Bring your climbing shoes the following day, when the wall opens to the public and you can test out the athletes’ boulders yourself.

The competition takes place during the Outside Festival, in downtown Denver’s Civic Center Park. The festival has some fantastic live music lined up—including Thundercat, Fleet Foxes, Lettuce, and Andrew Bird—as well as adventure-film premieres; speakers, including Jimmy Chin and Conrad Anker; and the latest climbing gear. In addition to watching the competition and testing out the climbing walls (yes, plural!), try yoga and tai chi classes, cold plunges, cycling challenges, endurance and strength clinics, and a kids’ zone featuring hands-on nature and science exhibitions.
