After Seven (5.10c) is a short, mixed-protection rock climb at Barrett’s Cove Cliff in the Camden Hills State Park, Maine. A No. 2 cam protects the comparatively easy opening sequences, while three bolts protect the 5.10 climbing.

“Sarah [Gall] has been leading sport for a few years and has recently added trad climbing to her quiver of skills,” the filmer, Ryan Howes, told Climbing. Although Gall sent past the crux, she rushed through the final clip while pulling up an armful of slack. Her right foot slipped off a marginal smear resulting in what looked like a pretty dang exciting whipper. Thankfully an attentive belay kept her well clear of the deck.

After reviewing the footage, Gall located a better foothold from which to clip the final draw and easily redpointed the route. Lesson learned!

Happy Friday, and be safe out there this weekend.
