As you head full-steam into your weekend, here’s a reminder to keep your focus until you’ve clipped the chains and are back on terra firma.
Armand LaDouceur was all but finished with the first pitch of Creatures Void of Form (5.11d) in Georgia’s Tallulah Gorge, a burly line with an intro V4 leading to an overhanging corner. On Armand’s redpoint attempt, after passing both the 5.11+ and 5.10+ cruxes, he arrives terribly pumped at the final section of 5.7. “I felt that I was basically done,” he wrote to Climbing, “but I let the feeling of being done take over and I forgot to use my feet. Resulting in… that.”
At least the gear was good and the fall was clean! For a video of Armand’s friend whipping off the second pitch of Creatures Void of Form, click here.
Happy Friday, and be safe out there this weekend.
